The Kent County Sheriff's Department Search and Rescue team are currently searching for two Rockford high school students. The search began on Monday evening after the two were reported missing.

The two teens, Gavin Vilchez and Renee Hunt (both 17), were last seen around 1 p.m. on Atlanta Court in Rockford. According to authorities they skipped their fourth and fifth period classes at Rockford High and are believed to be travelling on foot.

Their safety is a concern to authorities as both teens are without their medication. Authorities told our media partner WZZM-13 that Gavin Vilchez is dependent on his meds.

Vilchez is a white male, about 5'7'' tall and 150 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing dark clothing and a backpack. He was also wearing a "Ride" brand dark snowboarding jacked and may have a longboard skateboard with him.

Renee Hunt is a white female, 5'5'' tall and 135 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing dark clothing and was also carrying a dark backpack.

Authorities believe the teens are in a relationship with each other. Anyone with information on one or both of the students should call the Kent County Sheriff's Department at (616) 632-6100 or Silent Observer at (616) 774-2345.
