Maroon 5‘s Adam Levine gives us another guided tour of the behind-the-scenes action from the band’s video for ‘Payphone.’ It’s Day 2, clip 2 and Adam has to jack Wiz Khalifa‘s car.

While wearing a knit gray beanie and grandpa cardigan, the singer is mulling and musing over whether or not his character will get the girl… to escape a bank heist with him.

Levine then demonstrates a hilarious fake British accent while standing around with said girl he escapes with.

Later, Levine, bruised, bloodied and grimy with makeup from the action sequences, espouses the virtues of director Sam Bayer, who lensed Nirvana‘s ‘Smells Like to Teen Spirit’ video. Levine shared his love and respect for Bayer, who directed iconic clips, saying, “for a guy like me who grew up worshipping bands like Nirvana, he did that Blind Melon video that is so amazing for ‘No Rain.’ He doesn’t shoot music videos that much anymore and he loved the idea that I had and brought it to life, times a million. I am too tired to express my enthusiasm and ecstasy, but I am so happy.”

Happy. Dirty. Tired. Bloody. It’s all in a day’s work for Adam Levine and Maroon 5.
