Good news!  The Michigan Department of Transportation will be removing lane restrictions on more than half of it's projects for Labor Day weekend.

Bad news!  There will still be 65 MDOT projects around the state.

We have the complete list of MDOT lane closures and road projects that will remain in effect for Labor Day weekend.

If you're heading out of town this weekend, you are not alone.  According to AAA Michigan, 1.2 million motorists are expected to be on Michigan roads this weekend.

Starting at 3:00pm on Friday, MDOT will lift the lane restrictions on 82 of the 147 road projects statewide.  The lanes will remain open until 6:00am on Tuesday.

This should make travel easier, but there will still be slowdowns.  See the list below to learn all of the work zones which will either remain active or not have lane restrictions lifted for Labor Day weekend.

Enjoy your weekend and have a safe trip!
