Not only is Matrix a big baby with a big heart but he's also FREE to adopt!

He's a 7-year-old all black Boxer Mix who is super playful and lovable. He came into the Humane Society of West Michigan as an owner surrender with his brother, Mace. It would be ideal if Matrix & Mace were adopted together (since they grew up together) but it is not required. Both of them are free and would make great additions to your home.

Tuesday, September 25th the Humane Society is hosting Brushes with Benefits at Uccello's on E. Beltline from 7p-9p. You'll be learning to paint while drinking, eating and having fun all while helping out the HSWM. Tickets are $35 and registration is required. For every ticket sold, Brushes with Benefits is donating $10 to the Humane Society. You can get more info and register here.

And as you're going around for ArtPrize make sure to stop at Sundance Grill in Downtown Grand Rapids to check out "The Rescue Project," an entry by Kathie Van Hekken. It's a colored pencil collage of animals who have been  helped or are still waiting for their "forever homes." The hope is to raise awareness about these shelter animals and eventually adopt one of your own (hopefully).
