Get ready to fall in love with this energetic and playful dog named Stuart.

He's a 2-year-old American Staffy mix who was transferred to the Humane Society of West Michigan from the Flint area. Stuart seems to get along great with people in general, he's super sweet and affectionate. However, because of his energy level, Stuart would do better in a home with older or no children. Stuart hasn't had much interest in playing with other dogs, but if you do have another dog, it's always best to do a meeting, at the shelter, before adopting.

Humane Society of West Michigan

If you're a cat lover, the Humane Society of West Michigan has A LOT of them available for adoption right now. Currently, they have about 85 cats looking for new homes. As incentive, adults cats have their fees waived so cats 5 months and older cost you NOTHING! You will get to take your new cat home spayed/neutered, micro-chipped and up-to-date on their vaccinations.

THIS SATURDAY, 12/17 the Humane Society is having another on-site adoption event. From 11a-2p the humane society will have dogs at the Woodland Mall ready to be taken home. The adoption event will be held by the Christmas tree.

Finally, the Humane Society of West Michigan is 100% donor funded and donations are always appreciated to help keep the shelter running, especially around the holiday season. The HSWM serves the greater-Grand Rapids area so any type of donation you make stays local! Donations can be made either monetarily or by taking things the shelter may need (toys, treats, food, etc.).

You can find more info about donating here.
