Trixie is a little dog but with a lot of love! She is a 1 ½-year-old a terrier chihuahua mix and would make a great addition to your home. You can adopt Trixie from the Humane Society of West Michigan.

Although Trixie is about 5 -7 pounds, she's not what you would call an "ankle biter." She has a great personality and made friends with everyone she met on her trip to the radio station.

If you stop into the Humane Society and are looking to adopt a dog, take advantage of the I Like Big Mutts special. All adult dogs, 5 months and older, that weigh 40 pounds or more are discounted for $75, which means they only cost $100! Unfortunately, Trixie would not be a part of that special, but she does make up for it in personality :)

During ArtPrize make sure to stop at the City Water Building, by the Richard App gallery, so you can see the piece '300' from artist, Weatherly Stroh. Weatherly took pictures of animals from the Humane Society of West Michigan and Michigan Humane Society in Detroit. She turned those pictures into an oil canvas featuring 300 different animals. The piece is supposed to raise awareness on pet adoption and just how many animals in the community, and state, need homes.

On Thursday 9/29 from 4-7p there will be a "Yappy Hour" near the '300' art piece. Fido & Stitch, have kindly supplied dog treats which means your four-legged friends are welcome! Also, Weatherly will be auctioning one of her original paintings and those proceeds will go back to the Humane Society of West Michigan. This event will take place at the City Water building.
