A new list ranks the hardest-working states in America and Michigan found itself towards the bottom.

Before we find out where Michigan landed on the 2023 list of hardest working states let's check out the top ten working states.

What Makes A State Hard Working?

Wallet Hub shared how they came up with rankings of the hardest-working states in America.

In order to determine where the hardest-working Americans live, WalletHub compared the 50 states across two key dimensions: “Direct Work Factors” and “Indirect Work Factors.”

 

They  evaluated those dimensions using ten key metrics,  each metric was graded on a 100-point scale, with a score of 100 representing the “hardest-working.”

They then determined each state’s weighted average across all metrics to calculate its overall score and used the resulting scores to rank-order the states.
