The Weather Channel has released its White Christmas Forecast, and Michigan is likely the only state in the nation that will be completely blanketed in snow on Christmas Day.

The Weather Channel describes a "White Christmas" as having an inch of snow cover on the big day. This map shows how winter has treated us so far in 2017:

According to their forecast map, Michigan is the only state that is shown all in white indicating the likelihood of a White Christmas. Even snowy locales like Minnesota and North Dakota have regions that are in the 'possible' but not likely range. Even wintery Wisconsin has a corner of the state in the Christmas uncertainly zone.

Look to the northeast, no snow in downstate New York, Long Island and the seacoasts for Maine and New Hampshire. Perhaps only tiny Vermont could join Michigan as being the only White Christmas state for 2017. Vermont is shown all in white on the forecast map save for, perhaps, just a dot in the southwest corner of the state near the New York line.

But there's no dispute that Michigan will be the nation's Christmas snow champion this holiday season.
