The homeless man who served as Miley Cyrus' to the MTV Video Music Awards has a warrant out for according to authorities in Oregon.

22-year-old Jesse Helt was arrested on charges of criminal mischief and criminal trespass in 2010 (he was 18 at the time). He violated probation in November 2011 and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Helt moved to Los Angeles sometime following his arrest and attempted to find work as a model and actor. On Sunday, he gained worldwide attention when Cyrus had him accept her video of the year award on her behalf. He used the opportunity to bring attention to youth homelessness.

Polk County Director of Community Corrections Martin Silbernagel said on Tuesday that Helt will be arrested when/if law enforcement manages to locate him.
