Breaking up is hard to do. There's no doubt about that. But one of the hardest part about breaking up is going your separate ways.

According to Yahoo, over 60% of people think cutting off contact with an ex is the best way to speed up the healing process, however, the majority of us aren't taking our own advice.

More than half of people have remained friends with an old flame. Even those who say it's not worth it. A lot of us are still friends with at least one ex.

Have you ever gotten back together with an old boyfriend/girlfriend? 40% of people have. While a third have slept with an ex.

After a breakup, it's hard not to see what your past love is up to. Obviously you want to know what their new life without you is like which is why it's no surprise that:

Four in 10 have visited an ex’s profile on Facebook or other social media. A quarter have sneaked a peak at a social media profile of someone their ex was dating."

I think many of us are guilty of this.

If you do want to stay friends with an ex, over 60% believe its better wait before trying to be friends.

Are you friends with any of your ex's? Does it work?
