Coast West Music Festival, the event that came in this year to replace Muskegon Summer Celebration, will not be returning in 2014. After only one year of the festival, the Muskegon Festival Group Board announced on Wednesday that Coast West will not return for a second year.

According to our media partners at WZZM-13, this year's initial festival revenue did not meet expectations, and the financial hurdles the festival would encounter in coming years is simply too big to overcome.

The innagural six-day event included performances by the likes of LeAnn Rimes, Chicago, Blue Oyster Cult, Gregg Allman, Foghat, Cheap Trick, O.A.R. and Allen Stone.

Members of the festival board stated that they appreciate all of the fans, volunteers and vendors that supported this year's festival.
