Britney Spears may be plotting a comeback early next year. In a recent interview with HollywoodReporter.com, producer Dr. Luke says he has already signed on to the project along with Britney's longtime producer Max Martin.

"She's such an icon, I don't want to let anyone down. But most importantly, I want to make good music," Dr. Luke says in the interview. " . . . I'm excited to be co-executive producing with Max Martin, the person who kind of invented Britney, and to make good music."

He continues on to add that Britney is "such an amazing vehicle to getting that music out to a lot of people in every country."

Though the producer did not reveal any specific details about the album, the website also quotes an unnamed source who says that the album will "definitely hit stores before March 31, the end of Sony's fiscal year."
