'Tis the season for e-coli to pop-up along shorelines throughout West Michigan!

The good news is that health officials take water testing very seriously and post 'no swimming' advisories at any beach that has tested positive for above average bacteria levels.  The bad news is that bacteria tends to increase as temperatures rise and that's when you and I are planning a trip to the lakeshore to get a little relief, right?!
According to WZZM 13's On Target Forecast, we're in the midst of an excessive heat advisory.  It looks like West Michigan, and most of the nation, is facing upper 80's to 90's through next week and could extend beyond that time.
No swimming at two Allegan County beaches today.  Health officials have found above average levels of e-coli at both West Side County Park and Laketown Township Park.
