A 26-year-old man was shot and killed at the Shell Station in the 2000 block of the East Beltline early Sunday.

Wood TV 8 reports that large crowd causing a disturbance was reported at the gas station across from Woodland Mall around 4a.m.

When police arrived they found a man with a gun shot wound. He was transferred to Spectrum Butterworth Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

According to a release from the Grand Rapids Police Department, the victim was not an employee at the Shell Station, and the shooting occurred in the parking lot.

It is unclear what lead up to the shooting and police do not have any suspects in custody.
