A Reddit user who goes by the name metricmapsore decided to come up with an amazing map that shows how the U.S is divided up.

What the map showed is that more than half of the population lives on the outer edges of the map.

Most of the big cities in the United States all lie on the outer edges of the map and, obviously, that is where people are. It makes for 54 percent of the United States' population.

Other countries were compared too, Australia was one of them and it showed that 30 percent live in the country and, as of 2011, 82 percent lived within 50 kilometers (31 miles) of the coastline.
