A GRPD cruiser was stolen early Tuesday in northwest Grand Rapids.

Wood TV 8 reports that an officer was responding to a report of a fight around 4a.m. near Leonard Street NW and Walker Avenue NW.

As police approached the home, a suspect fled on foot, and an officer gave chase.

The suspect got into the police vehicle, in which the keys had been left. She traveled a few blocks, driving onto the sidewalk at 11th Street NW and Powers Avenue NW before taking off on foot again.

Police were able to track down the suspect with a K-9 and arrested her.

More information on the suspect or if the police vehicle was damaged have not been released.
