Viral pop star Rebecca Black has has announced that she has left school after the bullying that followed her rise to fame became too intense.  The 14-year-old singer will now be home schooled by her mother.
"When I walk by they'll start singing 'Friday' in a really nasally voice," Black told Nightline. "Or, you know, they'll be like, 'Oh hey, Rebecca, guess what day it is?'" The singer has also received death threats and suffered embarrassment after a rumor that she was pregnant got published on CNN.com.

Time away from school will give Black time to work on her debut EP, set to release soon. The EP will include "Carried Away," a song that addresses the topic of bullying. Black told MTV News:

"My favorite song is one that hopefully we're putting out for the next single," she said. "It's really cool. It's about past friendships that haven't really worked out so well. I feel like it'll give reassurance to all the girls out there that have lost a friend, 'cause I lost my best friend through all this.
