An official working Tuesday night's college football game between Toledo and Central Michigan University did something we're pretty sure we've never seen before when he stopped the game to talk with some people in the crowd —specifically, the band and the cheerleaders.

That's right, apparently the 'Chips were a little too fired up.

Barstool Sports' Dan Katz posted a Vine of the moment:

Toledo ended up winning the game 28-23, probably because no one on CMU's sidelines thought it was safe to speak for the remainder of the game.

This is pretty confusing. You're asking the people who are there to make noise to stop making so much noise? Maybe he's just a cranky old man. We kind of wished he had told them to get off his lawn.

After the game, Central Michigan's coach said he thought that the student section was fantastic:
