Mmmmm. Restaurant Week.

My wife and I have been in GR for only a short time, but have wanted to live here for quite a while. One of the things that attracted us to the city was the forward-thinking attitude and entrepreneurial spirit of the people here. From Festival to ArtPrize and everything in between, the electricity in GR is amazing to us.

One of the events we really looked forward to in GR was Restaurant Week. On Monday night, my wife and I went to GP SPORTS at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel, where they have a “2 for $25 deal” that is fantastic.

Since there were two of us, we each ordered what was on GP SPORTS menu for Restaurant Week.

The starters were the Butternut Squash Bisque and the Iceberg Wedge with Roma tomato, cucumber, blue cheese and Sherry Vinaigrette.

The entrees were the Bistro Steak (5 oz. steak) with gratin potato and seared asparagus and the Lamburger (7 oz. ground lamb) with feta served with (some sauce I can’t pronounce or spell) a Tzatziki sauce and sweet potato fries.

And for dessert, we had Chef Dan's Homemade Sweet Potato Pie served with vanilla ice cream and the Apple Cobbler served with vanilla ice cream.

If we had to point you in a specific direction, both my wife and I would say you need the Butternut Squash Bisque, the Lamburger and either of the desserts!

LOVE this city and LOVE Restaurant Week! Make sure you “eat around the city” and enjoy 3-course meals at a great price before it’s too late!
