Rihanna is working to ensure children get a proper education globally. So the pop star is doing her part as the new Global Ambassador for the Global Partnership for Education.

RiRi’s Clara Lionel Foundation has partnered with the Global Partnership for Education and Global Citizen to make sure 250 million children can get an education across 60 developing countries, particularly in the poorest areas of the world. With Rihanna as the spokesperson, she can encourage world leaders to take responsibility for overseeing global education for today's young boys and girls.

"I feel strongly that all children everywhere should be afforded the opportunity of a quality education," said Rihanna in a press release. "Therefore I'm proud to announce Clara Lionel Foundation's partnership with education advocacy leaders like the Global Partnership for Education and Global Citizen. Working together, I know we can amplify our efforts and ensure that millions of children gain access to education globally."

GPE Chair Julia Gillard is very happy that Rihanna has signed on to help push global education for the underprivileged youth. We are thrilled that Rihanna is joining GPE as Global Ambassador to campaign for every child to be able to experience the power of a quality education," she said.

This wonderful news comes as Rihanna is set to rock the Global Citizen Festival in New York tonight (Sept. 24).
