The Rosa Parks Circle Ice Rink is set to open Friday, November 30th in correspondence with the Grand Rapids Art Museum's Tree Lighting Ceremony, but it won't remain open for long. The high on Friday may only be in the 40s, but with temperatures expected to raise to around 60 this weekend, the rink will likely not be open for real until early next week.

Officials with the rink told MLive that once temps get up about 45, the ice simply will not hold a freeze, so they'll be forced to close the rink. Once the weather cooperates, the rink will be open daily through the winter, with extended hours during the school holiday break.
