Ryan Gosling Talks About His NYC Street Fight – UPDATE [VIDEO]

Several weeks ago a video was caught of Ryan Gosling breaking up a street fight in New York City involving an elderly man.  Ryan jumped in the middle of the altercation and defended the older gentleman while on lookers gawked in amazement.

MTV brought up his heroic act in a recent interview and after the break you can hear what he has to say...

"I think the guy really was stealing the other guy's paintings. I should have just kept my nose out of it," said Gosling. "I said to the guy, 'why are you doing this?' He said, 'he tries to steal my painting.' I said, 'how do you know?' And he said 'he comes here every day and looks at my paintings.' Which means that the guy was a fan. And so he wanted the painting so bad he had to steal it, because he couldn't afford it. So he finally steals the painting and he's getting his ass kicked by his hero. And then the guy from 'The Notebook' shows up and makes it weirder." - Ryan Gosling
