That's right folks. The place we all went as kids just cannot compete anymore.

It's the end of an era. The company that runs the Sears portrait studios (as well as a few studios in Walmart's and Baby's R' Us) has decided to shut down. They claim the reason is that digital camera technology has made it possible for people to take high quality photos without asking (or paying) someone else to do it. Eventually, they just could not longer compete with those folks.

Sears has released a statement saying that they're trying to find some other kind of professional photographer option. However, for now they will be without it.
