Grand Rapids remembered September 11, 2001 today with a Scout Salute at Gerald R. Ford Museum.

The September 11 Scout Salute at Gerald R. Ford Museum has been an annual event since 2002.  About 600 scouts were expected to participate during today's salute.  The salute began at sunrise and went until 8:00pm when the day closed with a candlelight vigil.

Visitors at today's event were invited to salute.  They were also invited to participate by writing a letter to a soldier serving overseas.
