On Friday, hit children's television show "Sesame Street" will be airing a very special episode centered around a hurricane hitting Sesame Street and what goes into rebuilding it.

According to the show's Tumblr page, a hurricane has swept through Sesame Street and now everyone that lives there is working together to clean up the damage. When Big Bird checks on his nest, he's heartbroken when he realizes that the storm destroyed it. The friendly neighbors on Sesame Street gather to show their support, but tell Big Bird that it's going to take time to rebuild.

While waiting for everyone to be able to get to his nest, Big Bird has moments where he is sad, angry, and even confused. His friends step up to help him deal with his emotions by allowing him to talk about what happened, giving him hugs, and encouraging him to draw pictures. They also step up to offer him places to stay and eat.

Big Bird thinks back on all of the good times he had in his nest, and knows that once it's rebuilt, he'll be able to make new memories, too!

Once the repairs have been done to his next, Big Bird is excited to try it out. Unfortunately, the city nest inspector tells him that he can't yet, because he has to wait for the mud to dry. Of course, Big Bird's loyal friend Snuffy steps up and blows on the nest until it's dry and can pass inspection.

The episode will air on Friday on PBS. Please check your local listings to see what time the episode will air.

The show is, of course, a result of the devastation on the East Coast in the wake of Hurricane Sandy. Want to help out with the relief efforts? You can get more details on where and how you can help at Restore The Shore on Facebook.
