Employees of Abercrombie & Fitch in Italy have been forced to do push-ups or squats when their job performance is unsatisfactory.

Male staff members who don't greet a customer "with sufficient cheeriness" or follow the directions of a manager had to do 10 push-ups.  Female staff with similar problems had to do 10 squats.

An email that went to all 200 employees at the Milan store was leaked to a local newspaper.  It said "from today, every time we make an error we'll have to do 10 press-ups, or squats for the women.  This will bring about a great result - we will learn from our mistakes."

A former employee was whining to the paper and the unions that he had to do a lot of push-ups.  Excuse me, but if you're doing that many push-ups, wouldn't you just think "maybe I'm just a really crappy employee"?

Hate to say it, but I kind of like the idea!  Then again, I could use  a few pushups and more gym time.
