Yesterday, Steve announced that he wanted to attempt a shopping trip where he would only purchase products that were either made in Michigan or made by a Michigan based company.  Well, his "Pure Michigan" shopping trip went pretty well for a first attempt.  Many listeners suggested that Steve should stop by a local farmer's market for produce, but since this was his first attempt at the "Pure Michigan" shopping trip, he wanted to make it simple and only made one stop on his trip and that stop was Michigan's own, Meijer.

Not bad for a first attempt, right?  Steve forgot to mention the 12-pack of Faygo and 24-pack of Meijer Brand bottled water.

Here is what Steve ended up getting:

  • Country Fresh Milk
  • Meijer Brand Paper Towel
  • Kellogg's Nutri Grain
  • Kellogg's Pop Tarts
  • Charley's Chips
  • Cheeze Kurls
  • Meijer Produce (Lettuce, Onion, Peppers)
  • Bird's Eye Voila Frozen Dinner
  • Hudsonville Ice Cream
  • Meijer Brand Margarine
  • Win Schuler's Cheese
  • Win Schuler's Snack Chips
  • Cole's Breadsticks
  • Kellogg's Honey Smacks
  • Biggby Coffee
  • Indian Summer Apple Juice
  • ESCH Road Medium Cherry Salsa
  • Red Gold Diced Tomatoes
  • Meijer Brand Black Beans
  • Meijer Brand Kidney Beans
  • Arnie's White Bread
  • Aunt Millie's Hot Dog Buns
  • Koegel's Frankfurters
  • Yoplait Yogurt
  • Michigan Brand Cottage Cheese
  • Meijer Brand Eggs
  • Meijer Deli Ground Beef
  • Faygo Cola
  • Meijer Brand Bottled Water

Now, as we said before, this was Steve's first attempt at an all Michigan made shopping trip.  He is planning on hitting up a local meat market and a farmer's market next week for his meat and produce needs.
