Hi, I’m Steve and I’m a new Dad who has learned a lot of things over the last several months and I want to pass along some knowledge to you!

Each week I will be giving you some new tips for first-time parents and one spectacular Dad joke!  So let's get to the tips!

  1. The first tip is about diaper changing. Diaper changing can be risky business, but this little tip will help reduce the chances of additional accidents on the changing table. Whenever you change your kid's diaper, have their new diaper already placed underneath them, so if they still need to go it won’t end up on the changing pad.
  2. Tip number two has to do with showing affection to your new bundle of joy. If you’re anything like me, you’ll love giving your new baby a smooch. But a word of caution when you giving him or her a kiss on the lips. If your baby has started to discover their tongue, keep the kisses on the cheeks. On more than one occasion, I went in to give baby Charlotte a peck on the lips and bam!! I’m greeted with an open mouth and an outstretched tongue. No baby Charlotte, you shouldn’t be french kissing yet.
  3. Sing! Sing like no one else is there! No matter how hard baby Charlotte is crying, if I bust out a tune, she stops crying and watches me. And if I can’t think of a song to sing, I just make one up like this…  And if you aren’t good at making up songs just sing about the things in the room with you.

And now it's time for the "koalaity" joke...

Q: Why aren't koalas really bears?
A: Because they don't meet the koalafications.
