Steve's Tips For Brand New Daddys (6-6-18)

Hi, I’m Steve and I’m a new Dad who has learned a lot of things over the last several months and I want to pass along some knowledge to you!

Each week I will be giving you some new tips for first-time parents and one spectacular Dad joke! So let's get to the tips!

Today’s first tip has to do with a tip I gave a few weeks ago. I told you to always make sure that you have a fresh diaper underneath your baby when you start changing him or her just in case they have an accident while changing. Well, I’d like to add another tip to that. Also make sure that that you have baby wipes at the ready because I went to change Charlotte yesterday and once I started changing her I noticed that we didn’t have any wipes on the changing table. So I grabbed some more out of the closet, but in that split second of not holding her legs, she proceeded to kick her poopy diaper and get poopy everywhere! So don’t be like me and make sure you have everything you need before you start changing your baby!
The second tip is to be sure to have your camera ready when your baby touches grass for the first time. If you don’t know, most babies don’t like grass the first time they touch it. It totally freaks them out and it makes for one hilarious video! You can check Charlotte’s first time touching grass on our website right now!
The final tip of the week is to be patient when giving your baby solid food for the first time. They might not like it right away, but that doesn’t mean that you should stop trying a certain type of food. Charlotte didn’t like pureed apples at first but the third time she tried them, she ate them right up! Just make sure that you aren’t giving them different types of foods at the same time, so if they have an allergy, you can pinpoint what it is from!
