You wash your hands, then dry them on a dish towl, check your phone, and head back to cooking. Nothing wrong with that, right? Wrong!

A new study shows that dish towels and phones harbor bacteria that could cause food poisoning.

It's pretty easy to figure this one out, we touch our contaminated phones or towels and then our food. Think about all the times you read a recipe from your phone, ew!

Back to the facts...

Researchers found that many people handle their phones while preparing a meal, and phones can be covered in bacteria if they were previously exposed to germs. Think about this,  you're playing Angry Birds while you're on the toilet, you wash up and then grab the phone again to get a recipe. Ew again!

So there you have it, disinfect your phone and wash your dish towels!
