On March 18th, we spoke with:

  • David Winick, restorer of Airstream Trailers and set designer for movies that have filmed GR.

David rebuilds and customizes iconic Airstream trailers (he's done Airstreams for Anthony Kiedis of the Red Hot Chili Pepper and James Hetfield of Metallica), published the book "Airstreams Custom Interiors," and has also done set design for some of the movie productions that have been through Grand Rapids.

  • Zora Carrier, Executive Director of Open Concept Gallery

We talk with Zora about "Big Mind Sky," the Ugo Rondinone rainbow sculpture that was high atop the Trade Center Building at 50 Louis.  We also chat about what "Big Mind Sky" represents, Ugo Rondinone and his work, the art Open Concept Gallery showcases, the Grand Rapids art scene, and about their March 30th "Big Mind Sky: A Celebration" event that will take place at Open Concept Gallery on the 4th floor of 50 Louis.
