Got a good voice and some vacation days to burn?  Then a trip to Chicago may be in order.  The X Factor auditions are in Chicago this week.  This is the closest auditions will come to Grand Rapids. Preliminary screenings will take place at the Sears Centre Arena on Tuesday.  Those lucky enough to get a callback will audition in front of a live audience on Wednesday.

In a recent radio interview, former 'American Idol' judge Simon Cowell confirmed that Grammy-winning superstar Mariah Carey will be involved with FOX's 'The X Factor.' But wait -- does this mean she'll be a judge? In a word, no. Cowell told radio personality Jackie Brown that Carey won't be on the judges' panel, due to her pregnancy, but she'll still be part of the show in some capacity.
