The Kalamazoo Shooting Spree – A Timeline

The city of Kalamazoo is still reeling from a shooting spree that took place throughout the city Saturday night.

45-year-old Uber driver Jason Brian Dalton shot eight people at three different locations throughout Kalamazoo, here is a timeline of the events, compiled with the help of our friends at WZZM-13.

Approximation 6 p.m. Saturday: Police responded to a call at Meadows Townhomes, after receiving reports that a woman had been shot. The woman was shot multiple times, and remains in the hospital.

Approximately 10 p.m. Saturday: Police received a call about a second shooting at Seelye Kia. A father and his teenage son were shot and killed while they sat in their car in the parking lot.

Approximately 10:15 p.m. Saturday: A third shooting was reported at a Cracker Barrel restaurant located not far from the Kia dealership. Four women were shot and killed in the parking lot, and a 14-year-old was shot and remains in critical condition.

Approximately 12:40 a.m. Sunday: Police come across a vehicle matching the description of the shooter's vehicle at Ransom and Porter St. in Kalamazoo. A 45-year-old man was arrested at the scene, and police discovered weapons in the vehicle.

Approximately 5:15 a.m. Sunday: The suspect in the shootings was identified at Jason Brian Dalton.

Approximately 6:15 a.m. Sunday: Gov. Rick Snyder tweets about the shootings, and praises local law enforcement.

Approximately 8 a.m. Sunday: Police state that they believe that the victims were chosen at random, and that they were shot "intentionally".

Approximately 11:30 a.m. Sunday: Police released the names of the four women killed outside of the Cracker Barrel -- Mary Lou Nye, 62, of Baroda, Mich.; Mary Jo Nye, 60, of Battle Creek, Mich.; Dorothy Brown, 74, of Battle Creek, Mich.; and Barbara Hawthorne, 68, of Battle Creek, Mich.

Approximately 11:50 a.m. Sunday: Uber announced that Dalton was, in fact, a driver for their company. In a statement they also said they were, "horrified and heartbroken at the senseless violence in Kalamazoo, Michigan."

Approximately 3 p.m. Sunday: The victims killed at Seelye Kia were identified as Tyler Smith, 18, a senior at Mattawan High School, and his father, Richard.

Approximately 3 p.m. Sunday: Gov. Rick Snyder announced on Facebook that all U.S. and Michigan flags  will be flown at half-staff on all state buildings and within the state Capitol complex for six days to honor the victims of the shooting spree.
