The Waldron Public House is no longer open to the public.

The restaurant and bar, which replaced McFadden's on Ionia Street downtown Grand Rapids six months ago, has announced they are going private.

In a message posted to Facebook, owners BarFly Ventures, who also own Grand Rapids Brewing Company, HopCat, and Stella's downtown GR, say they that they are "shifting gears to focus on hosting private parties and special events". The post continues,

“We took a look at our business and saw huge growth potential in our events business, so we decided to spend all of our time and resources to make this downtown’s best place for private parties and special events."

The Waldron will focus on serving parties of 30-300 seven days a week in three event spaces: The main Waldron Pub, Barnett's Lounge on the second floor, and the Pearl Room on the third.

The Waldron Public House opened in February 2016  featuring European and American craft beers, a cocktail menu, a late-night dance floor, and "eclectic pub fare".
