This morning, the Wanted brought their hits ‘Glad You Came’ and ‘Chasing the Sun’ to Central Park for a performance in front of hundreds of screaming fans for ‘Good Morning America.’

The friendly Brits had to sing loud to be heard over the voices of their fans, who sang along to every word of both of their U.S. hits as a full band provided the music behind them. Even at that early hour, the energy coming from the crowd was remarkable.

When asked who will win the 2012 Video Music Awards for Best New Artist, which features the Wanted competing against One Direction, Carly Rae Jepsen, Fun and Frank Ocean, Tom Parker declared, “The Wanted, of course!” The group was presented with a plaque in honor of the triple-platinum status of ‘Glad You Came.’ “Guys, this one’s for you! Amazing. Thank you so much,” Parker said.
