Tonight’s ‘National Night Out’ Events Scheduled For GR

In addition to the Richmond and Briggs Pools offering free admission, there's a ton of activities going on around town for 'National Night Out'.

Grand Rapids area neighborhoods have pulled out all the stops with their plans for tonight's National Night Out. So get out and meet your neighbors and some of your community's first responders!

Here's a few of the offerings. All of these are FREE!

The East Hills Neighborhood will be celebrating in Cherry Park with a DJ, fire trucks, and, of course, the Splash Pad will remain open.

The John Ball Area Neighbors will be convening in Lincoln Park on Bridge Street at 7pm. They'll have Tacos El Cunado, and some Michigan Style Coney Dogs to purchase.

The Eastown Community Association will be hosting their event from 5-7pm at Sigsbee Park. GRFD will be there with information to help improve household and public safety and security. They'll also be grilling hot dogs and hanging out with the Greater Grand Rapids Bicycle Coalition.

The Kentwood Community Church and the Kent County Sheriffs Department will be hosting an event at the church from 4-8pm. There will be food, bounce houses, petting zoo, water balloon fights, splash pad, dunk tank, K9 Unit, Mounted Unit, and much more.

The Garfield Park Neighborhood Association will be at the Kroc Center on Division Avenue South from 5-8:30pm.

In Walker, the Living Hope Church at 2391 Hillside (right off the corner of Alpine and Hillside) will be hosting an event, there will be police and fire vehicles on display, plus food, games, and other fun events for the whole family to enjoy!

And in Alger Heights, the event will be at the Alger Middle School, 929 Alger from 6:30-8:30pm. They have perhaps the biggest schedule with everything from free popcorn to book swaps to a petting zoo and even bubbles!
