Top Baby Names In Grand Rapids For 2012 Announced

Spectrum Butterworth Hospital was a busy place this year, especially in the maternity ward. According to a release from the hospital 7,162 babies were born there this year, and they've released the most popular names of 2012.

Emma and Liam top the lists, with Emma being the number one name overall for the third time in 4 years, and Liam jumping from number 19 last year to number one this year.

The top 10 boys names are:

4. Gabriel
5. Jackson
6. Landon
7. Isaac
8. Benjamin
9. Owen
10. William

And, the top names for girls are:

1. Emma
2. Sophia
3. Ava
4. Olivia
5. Evelyn
6. Grace
7. Isabella
8. Emily
9. Abigail
10. Addison
11. Avery
12. Harper

In 2012, there were more babies born at the Family Birth Place at Butterworth Hospital than any other hospital in Michigan.
