After filing for bankruptcy back in September, Toys R Us announced that they will be closing 182 stores around the U.S.

Six of those stores are right here in Michigan, including two in West Michigan. They include:

  • Grand Rapids (28th St.)
  • Muskegon (Harvey St.)
  • Traverse City
  • Lansing
  • 2 locations in Ann Arbor

USA Today says that stores are expected to start closing in February. It's unknown when the West Michigan locations will begin their going-out-of-business sales but all 182 stores on the list will be closed by April.

At some locations around the country, the toy giant will combine Toys R Us and Babies R Us into one.

When announcing that they were $5 billion in debt, Toys R Us acknowledged that part of the reinvention process will include strengthening their online presence since that's where most of the competition is.
