Steve's family doesn't have a lot of hand me down recipes, but this Chicken Paprikash dish makes up for that!  If you like meals with an easy cleanup, you'll love this recipe because it only uses a single pot!

Prep Time: 15 Minutes

Cook Time: 2 Hours

  • 3 Tablespoons of Paprika
  • 1 Tablespoon of Cayenne Pepper
  • 1/2 Tablespoon of Salt
  • 1 Tablespoons of Butter
  • 6 Small pieces of Chicken
  • 1/2 Bag of extra-wide Egg Noodles
  • 2 Large Onions
  • 3 Large Potatoes or 6 Small Potatoes
  • 3 Cups of Water

Step 1 - Caramelize Onions

Chop up 2 large onions and add to a large pot with 1 tablespoon of butter.  Cook on medium-high heat until the onion tips start to brown.

Step 2 - Add Spices, Water, and Chicken

Stir in 3 Tablespoons of Paprika, 1 Tablespoon of Cayenne Pepper, and 1/2 Tablespoon of Salt.

Add 3 Cups of Water.

Add Chicken and bring mixture to a quick boil.

Step 3 - Let Simmer for 45 Minutes

Reduce heat to low and let simmer, covered, for 45 minutes.

Step 4 - Add Potatoes

Cube potatoes and add to the mixture.  Recover and let simmer for 45 more minutes.

Step 5 - Add Egg Noodles

Add half of a bag of Extra-wide Egg Noodles to the mixture.  Recover and let simmer until noodles are soft.  You can also cook the noodles separately if you want.  If you do, reduce the water in the recipe by 1 cup.

Step 6 - Serve!

After the noodles soften it is ready to serve!  The chicken and potatoes should be practically falling apart at this point and the onions should be no longer visible.

This recipe is a great dish to cook on a Sunday and then pack up for lunches and dinners for the week!  Bon Appetit!
