Uber Driver Pulls Gun Out on Passengers in Grand Rapids
WZZM reports that an Uber driver is facing jail time for pulling a gun out on his passengers Friday night.
It started when the victims argued with the driver over the route he was taking to drop them off at home. As a result, he pulled over at the Market Ave exit on US-131 North and made them get out of the car. That's when they say he pulled out the gun and pointed it at hem.
The riders-turned-pedestrians walked to Grand Woods Lounge where they then ordered a new Uber. But instead of getting a different driver, the same one showed up. From there, WZZM says "a physical confrontation occurred outside of the bar on the sidewalk."
When police arrived on the scene, they found a loaded gun in his car which he did not have a permit for. The man was arrested and charged with not having his CCW and assault with a dangerous weapon.
