Vice President Joe Biden was talking jobs in Grand Rapids today.  He visited a fire department in Flint earlier today before heading to Grand Rapids where he spoke at Grand Rapids Central High School.

WZZM tells us more about Biden's visit:

Biden focused on plans to put workers back on the job by spending $25 billion to rebuild and modernize schools like the 100 year old Central.

"We're prepared for everything - to compromise on anything to produce jobs. One thing we're not prepared to do is do nothing" Biden told reporters and students inside Central.

His visit came a day after the U.S. Senate rejected Obama's $450 billion overall jobs plan that would reduce payroll taxes on workers and employers, extend benefits to long-term unemployed people, spend money on public works projects and help states and local governments keep teachers, police officers and firefighters on the job.

Biden said he and Obama will now "bring up every piece of this bill one by one."
