Volunteers Needed At GR Sewage Plant

The Grand Rapids Sewage Plant is quickly getting closer to being flooded and volunteers are needed to help setup sandbags.

The plant is looking for at least 30 volunteers to place sandbags all around the sewage treatment facility THIS MORNING at 8AM.

The City's Environmental Service Department facility is located at 660 Market Avenue SW.

The hope is that the sandbags will add an extra foot to the barrier already protecting the facility. They say that the effects of flooding could be disastrous at the plant.
