A very large crowd of hockey fans gathered Friday afternoon at Rosa Park Circle for the Grand Rapids Griffins’ Calder Cup Championship celebration!

“This celebration was 67 years in the making,” the event host and one of the play by play guys for the Griffins, Larry Figurski told the crowd.

The parade started on Ottawa Ave near Van Andel Arena, as the team made their way to Rosa Park Circle in Red, Black and silver Ford pickups.  During the celebration, the team stood proudly on stage while Dan Devos, one of the two owners of the Griffins, Mayor Bliss and others sang the praises of the Griffins’ Calder Cup Championship!
