Now Aaron Hernandez is a Suspect in Two Other Murders

Former Patriots tight end AARON HERNANDEZ is now a suspect in a drive-by shooting last year that left two people dead.

The shooting occurred early on the morning of July 15th in Boston's South End, when an SUV rolled up on another car and opened fire.

There were five people in the car that was fired on.  Two people in the front seat were pronounced dead at the scene.  The three in the back survived.

Wittesses say that hours before the shooting, Hernandez and some friends got into an altercation in a nightclub with the people in that car.

Last night, ESPN reported that authorities located a red SUV with Rhode Island license plates that they believe to be the vehicle the shooters were in.  (Even though earlier reports said the SUV was GRAY.)  Hernandez had apparently rented the SUV.

There's now speculation that last week's murder of Odin Lloyd had something to do with this incident.  A law enforcement source says Lloyd could have been killed because he knew of Aaron's involvement in the drive-by.

Police haven't admitted officially that Hernandez is a suspect in the drive-by.  But several sources have confirmed it.

And the D.A. is on the record as saying that while the drive-by remains unsolved and the trail had gone pretty cold, the investigation has become more, quote, "ROBUST" recently

Yesterday, Aaron's lawyers tried to get him released on bail, but the judge DENIED their request, citing the, quote, "very, very strong circumstantial case" the prosecution has presented against him.

Even a Company Founded by Nazis Wants Nothing to Do With Aaron Hernandez

The company says, quote, "Puma has ended the relationship with athlete Aaron Hernandez in light of the current situation."

Puma was founded by a NAZI, you know.  So was Adidas.  Beginning in the 1920s, German brothers Adolf and Rudolph Dassler were partners in the shoe business . . . and members of the Nazi Party.

They had a falling out after World War 2 and Adolf formed Adidas, while Rudolph founded Puma.

Although, as an interesting side note . . . Back when they were still business partners, Adolf took a suitcase full of cleats to Berlin and convinced black U.S. sprinter JESSE OWENS to wear them during the 1936 Olympics.

Jesse went on to SHOVE IT IN HITLER'S FACE by winning four gold medals right there in the Fatherland.  So it was actually a German company that helped shame the Fuhrer on his own turf . . . while becoming the first EVER to sponsor a black athlete.  Now you know.

Scandal!  PETA Named Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard Their Sexiest Vegetarians . . . But Dax Eats Chicken!

PETA named KRISTEN BELL and DAX SHEPARD this year's Sexiest Vegetarians.  Unfortunately, one of them DOESN'T QUALIFY.

Dax released a statement saying, quote, "Sadly I can't accept in good conscience because I eat chicken.  I was vegan for a year, but that ended 6 months ago

"I aspire to be more like ‪Kristen, but I'm not there yet."

After Dax's announcement, PETA issued a statement saying, quote, "We love Dax, and we're glad to read that he's aspiring to be more like Kristen.  We are here to help with recipes and our vegetarian starter kit."

Bruce Jenner Has A New Place But Kris Says It's All Good

KRIS JENNER has confirmed rumors that BRUCE JENNER has been spending time at his own place . . . but she says it's all good.

She claims they're not splitting up, Bruce just needs a little space because KIM KARDASHIAN, KANYE WEST and their new baby North have moved in.

Kris told "Access Hollywood", quote, "We got a place out at the beach for him to get away.  It does get a little congested in that house."  She added, quote, "He sleeps at home, he is mostly sleeping at home."  (Here's video.)

Channing Tatum's "White House Down" is Up Against Sandra Bullock's Buddy Cop Movie "Heat"

1.  "White House Down"  (PG-13)  Trailer and a 4-minute Extended Trailer

Channing Tatum and Jamie Foxx star in this action thriller about the White House being attacked and taken over by terrorists.  Jamie is the President, and Channing plays a D.C. cop who's there because he wanted a job with the Secret Service.

Maggie Gyllenhaal is the Secret Service agent he interviews with, and Joey King from the "Ramona and Beezus" kids movie plays Channing's daughter . . . who's also trapped in the White House when the terrorists attack.

It's directed by Roland Emmerich, the guy who did "Independence Day".

"The Heat"  (R)  Trailer and the Redband Trailer

Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy star in this buddy cop movie about an uptight FBI agent who's forced to team up with a foul-mouthed Boston cop to take down a local drug lord.  I'll let guess which one is which.

It's directed by the guy who did "Bridesmaids".  Marlon Wayans is also in it, but he doesn't get a lot of screen time.  And there's a cameo from Joey McIntyre of the Backstreet Boys as one of Melissa McCarthy's brothers.

"Redemption"  (R)  Trailer  (Limited)

Jason Statham is a homeless veteran who assumes another man's identity.  He uses his combat skills working for the criminal underworld . . . until the day he learns that his missing girlfriend was brutally murdered.  Then all he wants is revenge.

A "Captain Planet" Movie is in the Works

For better or worse, if you were a child of the '90s, then you remember "Captain Planet".  Well, there's a MOVIE version in the works.  There's no word if it'll be a cartoon like the show was, CGI or live-action.

Check Out a Trailer for the Stallone / Schwarzenegger Movie "Escape Plan"

There's finally a trailer for the new SYLVESTER STALLONE / ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER movie "Escape Plan".  It's about two guys who try to escape from a supposedly inescapable prison.

Ironically, before he got locked up, Stallone's character broke out of prisons for a living.  The movie also stars Vincent D'Onofrio, Jim Caviezel and 50 Cent . . . and it comes out October 18th.  (Here's the trailer.)

The CW Is Developing a Show About a Teenage Virgin Who Got Pregnant . . . After Being Accidentally Artificially Inseminated

How many times have we heard about a show a network is developing, and thought it was TOTALLY UNORIGINAL?  All the time, right?  Well, the CW has something a little intriguing on their hands

They're developing a drama called "Jane the Virgin", which is about, quote, "a hard-working, religious girl who, due to a series of outrageous events, is accidentally artificially inseminated."  (???)  And yes, as you can tell by the title, she's a virgin

There's no word what those "events" were . . . but clearly, they MUST be outrageous.  There's no word when the show might make it to TV.

By the way, this concept is technically NOT "original."  The show is a remake of a Venezuelan telenovela with the same title.

"Laverne & Shirley" Will Act Together for the First Time in 30 Years on a Nickelodeon Show

CINDY WILLIAMS and PENNY MARSHALL . . . who starred on "Laverne & Shirley" from 1976 to 1983 . . . are reuniting.

They will make a guest appearance on the Nickelodeon show, "Sam & Cat" . . . playing, quote, "The creators of a '70s TV show who haven't spoken in 30 years."  The episode is filming this week, but no airdate has been set yet.

Cindy and Penny HAVE kept in touch in recent years . . . although they did go through a rough patch after they finished the show.  But this WILL be the first time they've acted together since "Laverne & Shirley" ended 30 years ago.

"The Price Is Right" Is Doing an All-Plinko Episode

"The Price Is Right" is doing an ALL-PLINKO episode to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the game.  The episode taped on Wednesday . . . and will air on September 27th.

A producer says, quote, "There's so much history with this game.  It's almost becoming baseball-like . . . people have all kinds of theories of where to drop [the chip] . . .

"Whether to drop it high and let it go . . . or as low as you can and try to feed it into that slot . . . or come off to the right and move it left."  (Here's an old video of some guy killin' it at Plinko.  Skip to the 2:50 mark.)

Ten Songs You Can Do CPR To . . . Besides "Stayin' Alive" by The Bee Gees

FULL STORY:  June is CPR Awareness Month, and you've probably heard that when you're doing CPR, you're supposed to do chest compressions to the beat of "Stayin' Alive" by The Bee Gees.  (There was a big ad campaign about it back in 2011.)

The goal is 100 compressions per minute, which matches up almost perfectly with the song's rhythm.  But if you HATE that song . . . which is totally understandable . . . here are ten other songs that have about 100 beats per minute.

1.  "Cecilia" by Simon & Garfunkel

2.  "Hard to Handle" by The Black Crowes

3.  "Sweet Home Alabama" by Lynyrd Skynyrd

4.  "Rock Your Body" by Justin Timberlake

5.  "I Will Survive" by Gloria Gaynor

6.  "MMMBop" by Hanson

7.  "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" by Cyndi Lauper

8.  "Gives You Hell" by The All-American Rejects

9.  "Heartbreaker" by Mariah Carey

10.  "Another One Bites the Dust" by Queen . . . which is kind of a sadistic choice.

You Spend Almost a Year of Your Life Counting Calories

:  If you're trying to lose weight, you're probably familiar with counting calories . . . and all the smartphone apps and websites that give you calorie counts for whatever you're thinking about eating.

The downside is . . .  you're basically counting calories ALL the TIME.  According to a new study, people spend about 20 minutes a day reading food labels or looking up nutritional information.

That's more than two HOURS a week . . . which adds up to five full DAYS a year spent counting calories.

At that rate, over your lifetime, you'd spend 338 DAYS reading labels before eating food.  (Female First)

The Newest Health Trend Is to Get a Vitamin IV Drip on Your Lunch Break

If you're constantly exhausted, you're not alone.  And according to ABC News, the newest health trend might be more effective than just taking a multivitamin every day.

Apparently the new fad is to go get a vitamin IV DRIP on your lunch break.  That's when a doctor hooks you up to an IV, and they pump you full of vitamins and minerals that give you a boost of energy.

So it's kind of like an energy drink, except you're MAINLINING it.  The "energy cocktails" typically include B12 or B5, but also things like vitamin C, zinc, and chromium.

The idea itself isn't new, and celebrities have been doing it for years.  Madonna and Cindy Crawford reportedly do it.  And Rihanna tweeted a photo last year that showed her hooked up to an IV.  (It's not clear what that was for though.)

In 2011, Simon Cowell admitted to "GQ" that he has it done once a week, and usually gets B12, magnesium, vitamin C, and, quote, "something for [his] liver."

Multivitamins are still the CHEAPER option though.  One IV session can cost anywhere from $130 to $275.  Although there's a slim chance your insurance might cover the bulk of that.  (ABC News)

Dairy Queen Now Has Treadmill Desks . . . at Their Corporate Office

:  The people in the corporate offices at Dairy Queen think their employees need help managing their weight . . . which is ironic enough on its own.  But check this out.

At their headquarters in Edina, Minnesota, they've recently installed several TREADMILL DESKS, so employees can walk off calories while they work.

According to Megan Weizel, who manages Dairy Queen's wellness program, she was worried about employees having to sit for eight hours a day.

Although apparently not as worried about the rest of us scarfing down Blizzards and Peanut Buster Parfaits.

And actually, Dairy Queen's in-office fitness options are pretty decent.  According to Weizel, they're adding a room for fitness classes, they already offer yoga classes, and they have locker rooms so people can shower after a workout or biking to work.

She says Dairy Queen is getting serious about in-office fitness because they think it might be a "recruitment tool" for new employees.  (Kare11.com)

Are Cubicles Making a Comeback?  A New Study Says Open Plan Offices Are Less Productive Because People Can't Focus

Offices with an open floor plan have become a LOT more popular over the past decade.  That's where you can see everyone you work with, not just the inside of your cubicle.

The original idea was that if you could see your co-workers and communicate more easily, it would boost creativity, make it easier to collaborate, and increase productivity.

But according to more and more research, getting rid of cubicles DOESN'T necessarily make you a better employee. In fact, a new study suggests the OPPOSITE might be true.

According to a survey of more than 2,000 U.S. workers, there's been a DECREASE in productivity since 2008, and the problem might be that open floor plans make it too hard to FOCUS.  Which makes sense, because your eyes are constantly drifting around to see what's going on.

31% of people said they're not as satisfied with their job when they have trouble focusing, and three out of four workers say the setup of their office is not "optimal."

And another recent study found that workers at offices with open floor plans take 62% more sick days.  (Daily Mail / Gensler.com)

Our Top Five Irrational Fears at Work

According to a new survey, 84% of people have an irrational fear of something at work.  And 68% of us have skipped some task at work because we were AFRAID of doing it.  Here are the five things we're most afraid of.

1.  25% of us are worried that we'll send a sensitive email to the wrong person . . . or to EVERYONE.

2.  23% of us worry that we'll be fired out of the blue.

3.  21% worry that we'll accidentally open up an inappropriate website.

4.  19% of us worry that we'll be "found out" for being incompetent at our job.

5.  And 11% of us are afraid of the photocopier. (???)

People With iPads Think They're Better-Informed . . . and Are More Likely to Pretend They're Well-Informed

:  According to a new study, your iPad is turning you into a know-it-all . . . who doesn't actually know that much.

Researchers asked people how well-informed they are on current events.  And 56% of people said that they're more up-to-date on things like politics than their friends are.  But among iPad and tablet users, that number was 69%.

But . . . iPad users were also more likely to admit they sometimes PRETEND to know about certain current events, just to impress people.

52% of iPad users said they do it, compared to just 27% of people who don't own a tablet.  Which suggests that owning an iPad makes you feel more PRESSURE to be up on current events.

Or . . . maybe people who are ALREADY know-it-alls are just more likely to buy iPads.

In the same study, iPad users were also more likely to fall for trendy diets that they heard about online.  42% said they'd consider them compared to just 19% of people who don't have an iPad.  (DesignNTrend.com)

The Top Five Things People Would Do If They Were Rich

:  If you won the lottery, and never had to worry about money again, what would you do?  You've probably thought about it before.  Well, a new survey asked people that question.  Here are the top five answers.

1.  Travel the World.  24% of people said that's what they'd do.

2.  Retire Early.  Which kind of goes with traveling the world.  But that's what 22% of people chose.

3.  Spend it on Your Family . . . 15%

4.  Buy Your Dream House . . . 13%

5.  Turn Your Passion into a Business.  Or in other words, quit your job and launch your OWN business.  11% of the people surveyed said that's what they'd do.

But 84% of people said they're not sure if they'll EVER achieve financial freedom.

Want to Know Why We're Obsessed with Celebrities?  Evolution

:  It turns out you're not obsessed with celebrities because you're a superficial moron . . . it's because of EVOLUTION.

There's an anthropologist at Durham University in England named Jamie Tehrani, who thinks he's figured out why we're infatuated with celebrity culture.

It's because unlike other primates, who only respect physical dominance, humans CHOOSE to respect certain people if they see they're GOOD at something.

That was great thousands of years ago, because it allowed us to promote INTELLIGENCE, not just strength:  If someone was good at making a stone knife, then maybe they were good at OTHER useful things . . . like not getting eaten by a panther.

With celebrities, we PERCEIVE them to be more important than other people because they're successful at something.  So our brains THINK we should respect them, look like them, dress like them . . . even buy their perfumes so we can SMELL like them.

The problem is, most celebrities are only good at one specific thing . . . like acting, singing, or sports . . . which you have ZERO chance of being successful at.  And sometimes they're not good at anything at ALL.

Here's a good analogy:  The reason we crave sugary foods and fatty foods is because early humans constantly needed to seek out fruit and meat.  But now that we have more food than we need, there's an obesity epidemic.

According to Tehrani, reading tabloids and following celebrities is like junk food for your mind.  It's quick, easy, and satisfying . . . but not necessarily GOOD for you.

There's a Toy Dealer Who Makes Weapons for LEGO . . . Because LEGO Won't Make Them

Here's an interesting fact:  LEGO makes all kinds of different toy sets . . . but for years, they didn't make weapons.

And their weapons ban even included things like baseball bats . . . which COULD be used as weapons.

But if you REALLY want to have your LEGO people commit violent acts on each other, you're in luck.

A company called Brickarms produces tiny toy weapons that COULD be used by LEGO people.

Brickarms isn't affiliated with the LEGO company . . . but their weapons fit perfectly in LEGO people's hands.  They make guns . . .  assault weapons . . . silencers . . . rocket launchers . . . and baseball bats.  (Gizmodo)

A Woman Ran Over Two Pedestrians Because There Was a Spider in Her Car

:  Try THIS excuse the next time you get pulled over.  We're not saying it'll work . . . but at least it sounds original.

Sandra Rivera of Indianapolis was driving her minivan near Mounds State Park on Saturday, when she had an accident.  (Sandra's age wasn't given.  The park is about 75 miles east of Indianapolis.)

She accidentally HIT two people as they were walking across a parking lot . . . 28-year-old Manuel Tapia, and 31-year-old Novma Gonzales.

And she says she didn't see them, because she was DISTRACTED.

She says there was a SPIDER in her minivan, and she was watching it . . . probably to make sure it didn't get too close to her . . . and ended up hitting Novma and Manuel.

Neither of them were killed or seriously hurt, but they were taken to the hospital with injuries to their legs.  Police are investigating the incident . . . but haven't charged Sandra with anything yet.  (WLKY.com)

Some People Are Holding a Memorial Service This Weekend for 50,000 Bees That Died in a Target Parking Lot

The Senate just passed Immigration Reform, but it was too late for 47-year-old Mai Nhu Nguyen (nu-WHEN).

Mai worked in the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services office in Santa Ana, California, and she was arrested recently for illegally helping immigrants get their green card applications processed faster.

On Wednesday, she was indicted by a grand jury on three counts of accepting bribes.

If you're wondering how much it would cost to get special attention for your green card application, prices vary widely.

Mai accepted a bribe of $1,000 cash . . . a bribe of $2,200 cash . . . and a bribe of 200 EGG ROLLS.  (Although we don't know if she got them all at once, or got a credit at a local restaurant.  Still . . . THAT'S how messed up our immigration system is.)

An Immigration Officer Was Arrested For Taking Bribes . . . Including 200 Egg Rolls

:  Last week, 50,000 bees were found dead in the parking lot of a Target in Portland, Oregon.  Almost HALF of them were bumblebees . . . and most of the rest were honeybees.

After some investigation, officials found out that the bees were MURDERED.  Landscapers near the parking lot used a powerful insecticide called Safari to spray some Linden trees.  So the bees were in the wrong place and got exposed to the gas.

Apparently, that type of thing happens fairly often . . . and it's estimated that millions of bees die worldwide from people trying to spray OTHER types of insects to protect their plants.

So a group of 54 people will be holding a MEMORIAL SERVICE in honor of the bees this Sunday . . . in the Target parking lot.  And a lot of other people who can't attend are sending eulogies to be read at the ceremony.
