Finally! Last weekend I had the opportunity to sit down and do some serious TV watching. Let's just say things have been wildly out of control in July, but finally, last weekend was TV time.

Have you ever started channel surfing and nothing really seems to catch your attention? I mean over 100 channels, and you're not in the mood for any of it! Until you hit, what I call, a remote stopper movie.

These are movies you've seen at least a 20 to 30 times, maybe even more, and you can't get enough of them. When they come on TV, your remote stops and you're engaged for at least two hours.

Mostly these movies come from the 80's. I got stuck on Back to the Future last weekend, and I'm not complaining one bit. I love every movie in the trilogy, and my remote will stop every time, for some reason it's even better when it comes on a TV network.

Actually, thinking about the movies that stop my remote, most are directed by Steven Spielberg and the late John Hughes.

Uncle Buck, The Breakfast Club; National Lampoon's Vacation; Planes, Trains, and Automobiles, Ghostbusters, Back to The Future, Indiana Jones all come to mind!

We had the conversation on Facebook today, and a few others were suggested like Shawshank Redemption, Sixteen Candles, The Sandlot, Goonies, and Pretty Woman.

What's your remote stopper movie?

What are some movies that you HAVE to stop on when you're flipping through channels?I want to write a blog about those...
