It's a pretty cool thing to get money for your birthday, but who still gets birthday money when they're 57? Sorry for that harsh opening line, but maybe I'm just upset at the fact that I missed out on this.

In Winston-Salem, North Carolina, a man named Bob Blackley was celebrating his 57th birthday by giving away all of his birthday money to total strangers. While walking through the streets carrying a sign that read, "I have a job. I have a home. Could you use an extra $5?" The man was kind enough to hand out $5 bills to motorists and pedestrians at an intersection.

WXII News reports that one grateful woman asked, "Why?" and Bob responded with, "Because it's my birthday! Please take it quick or I'm going to get run over." Kind of a funny response from a guy giving away a few bucks out of the kindness of his heart.

In a few hours he had handed out all of the $285 he received in birthday money. Then his wife, Carol, matched the cash as she had promised and handed out another $285. Carol said, "I hope people pay it forward. This is what it's all about." Meanwhile Bob says he can't wait to do it next year for his 58th birthday, while I'm still wishing to get money for my 32nd birthday.
