ArtPrize Preview Week has begun! Over 30 venues are participating including major venues such as the GRAM, Calvin College - (106) Gallery, The B.O.B. and UICA.

One popular and award-winning venue that won't be opening early at ArtPrize Eight is SiTE:LAB.

SiTE:LAB has won the Outstanding Venue Juried Award four out of the five years it has been awarded. Last year, SiTE:LAB's "The Rumsey Street Project" not only won best venue, it was also named one of the top ten exhibitions in the United States in 2015.

SiTE:LAB is a major player at ArtPrize, but their large-scale installations take time. This year's "Rumsey St. Project - EVERYTHING IS TRANSFORMED" won't be ready for the public until opening day of ArtPrize on Wednesday, September 21.

SiTE:LAB explained on Instagram:

A note on ArtPrize preview week. We love the idea, but for us it just doesn't work. We are in the midst of finishing our large scale installation exhibits and consider our site to still be a "no-access" construction site. We look forward to seeing you all starting Next Wednesday the 21st. Unless of course you'd like to come down and volunteer with final site clean up.

Good things come to those who wait.
