Avery, 68, passed away on New Year's Eve following surgery for an undisclosed illness. Will Smith has been silent about the situation until today when he spoke about it on his official Facebook page.

Along with his message expressing his sadness over the situation, Smith included a photo of himself with Avery and his on screen cousins from the last time all of them were together.
