The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the National Weather Service have released new details about the winter weather impacting West Michigan through Wednesday.

According to the folks at NOAA, we're experiencing a rare cold for Michigan, and should expect temperatures through Wednesday to be similar to those that we experienced January 6 & 7 of this year.

Officials are saying it will be very cold through Wednesday Morning. And warn residents that when outside, the time it will take you to get frostbite is only 15 to 30 minutes.

The folks from NOAA as well as local meteorologists are also calling for more snow along and near the lakeshore than those of us inland can expect.

The snow, blowing snow, and freezing temperatures have caused several issues on the road throughout Monday, and officials expect for those road conditions to continue through Wednesday as well.
