As funding gets cut in Washington to take care of the Great Lakes, it’s good to see people who live around the lakes aren’t forgetting how important it is to take care of these natural resources.
Sunday afternoon, Students from West Michigan University hosted a beach cleanup in Holland at the state park, according to WZZM 13.

WZZM 13 reports that 15 students put on the beach cleanup Sunday, as part of the WMU MBA Program’s Impact Project. They also raised money for “The Alliance For The Great Lakes”, which is a non-profit organization that’s working to clean up, conserve and restore the lakes for future generations.

Around 40 people came out to help with the cleanup, which collected around 40 pounds of trash from Lake Michigan.
